To provide protection against harsh chemicals and environments, Scaletron’s corrosion resistant design features stainless steel load cells and hardware with a rugged steel frame that is zinc oxide primed and dry powder epoxy coated – all backed by a five year warranty. Typical chemicals being weighed are highly corrosive and include liquefied gases such as argon, ammonia, carbon dioxide, chlorine, hydrogen chloride, nitrogen, sulfur dioxide and other specialty gases

Unlike competitive models that use a combination of a hydraulic load cell and a pressure transducer, Scaletron’s ton container scales feature fully electronic, digital operation. On all 3000 Series scales the base features an NTEP approved stainless steel shear beam load cell with a leveling foot and a built-in mechanical overload stop to prevent damage during cylinder handling.
Maintenance-free UHMW rollers mounted on stainless steel axles require no lubrication and are designed to move freely to ensure that container is properly centered. All 3000 Series scales are ideal for frequent on/off loading of cylinders.

Scaletron’s indicators and process controllers offer a built-in 4-20 mA analog output that can be used in conjunction with a scale indicator. The 4-20 mA output allows Scaletron’s scales to be integrated via PLC with other local equipment or SCADA systems at a central monitoring station. Ideal for remote installations, it reduces the need to visit the site where the scale is located.
Prior to shipment, Scaletron custom calibrates and tests all equipment to customers’ exact specifications and application requirements. Scale indicators, depending on the model, can be calibrated in various units of weight or volume including pounds, kilograms, gallons and liters.
